In the High School Forensics (HSF) Challenge, contestants rack up points in a game show-style challenge that culminates in a murder mystery.

In the HSF competition, high school students work in teams to identify and analyze electronic evidence related to a crime. During the online preliminary competition,  teams choose from categories including network analysis, mobile forensics, live system forensics, steganography, file carving, and more, answering questions to earn points. The teams with the most points are flown to one of the CSAW international locations to compete onĀ-site in the finals, where the CSAW Murder Mystery waits to be solved.
